I don't know about you but I love films, books and music that are about coming of age, those miraculous years that are the teens, the first love, first kiss, and just plain but ever so beautiful moments that make you who you are.
So, I'm going to give a little list of things in the genre of coming of age, and those moments.
The perks of being a wallflower I'm sure you've already heard of this before but just in case you haven't it is a book and film about a shy and awkward, but lovely boy who finds these other people 'wallflowers' who accept him, and enters into their beautiful worrld all whilst growing up in those key years.
Here are some of the best quotes from it,

'And in that moment,

But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from,
We can still choose where we go from there.'

Some pretty cool and inspiring quotes there. Thats one of the reasons why I love this film so much.

This is my favourite paart of the film because Sam (the girl) looks so at peace with herself and literally free in the wind as she dances to the music.

The virgin suicides Now, this is a piece of art. It is a film (and book again) that practically sums up growing up as a girl. Its about some crushed boys who have an obsession with these mysterious girls ( who yes, are virgins) It is quite hard to describe it but basically watch the film.

....BEWARE! TEENAGER!

So, I turn thirteen today, but most importantly, become a teenager.
For some reason, parents across the world are frightened of their children becoming teenagers. And, my parents keep pleading for me not to turn into a 'teenager'.
I wanted to know why people are scared or intimidated by teenagers. So I investigated it. And here are the facts;

• Overall, there were  137, 335 proven offences by young people in 2011/2012.
• However, it is down 22% since 2010/11.
• In 2011/12, there were 36,677 first time enterants to the Youth Justice System.
• Howver, this has gone down by 59% from 2001/2 and fell twenty per cent in last year.
• In 2011/12 there were 375 Anti Social Behavior Orders (ASBO's) given to young people.
• However, in the last year, that number has gone down by 30%.

So, make what you like out of it, but I think our reputations are fading.
To brighten things up, I thought I'd share this sketch. The funny thing is, its quite true! But not always.
