For some reason, parents across the world are frightened of their children becoming teenagers. And, my parents keep pleading for me not to turn into a 'teenager'.
I wanted to know why people are scared or intimidated by teenagers. So I investigated it. And here are the facts;
- Overall, there were 137, 335 proven offences by young people in 2011/2012.
- However, it is down 22% since 2010/11.
- In 2011/12, there were 36,677 first time enterants to the Youth Justice System.
- Howver, this has gone down by 59% from 2001/2 and fell twenty per cent in last year.
- In 2011/12 there were 375 Anti Social Behavior Orders (ASBO's) given to young people.
- However, in the last year, that number has gone down by 30%.
So, make what you like out of it, but I think our reputations are fading.
To brighten things up, I thought I'd share this sketch. The funny thing is, its quite true! But not always.
*no offence meant*
